Canberra United Football Club were founded in 2008 by Capital Football, the club was an inaugural member of the W-League.

The team immediately became unique in the competition as being the only squad not to be affiliated to a mainstream A-League franchise.

The club are three times W-League Premiers and two times W-League Champions.

Canberra United’s home stadium is Viking Park.
