Peruvian police have arrested six people in a raid on a suspected family-run drug operation in Lima, led by an officer disguised as Mexican superhero Chapulín Colorado. The dramatic operation, targeting the alleged “Los Cuajinais de Año Nuevo” gang, saw the costumed officer break through a gate with a sledgehammer, surprising the suspects. Authorities seized more than 1,500 packets of cocaine paste, 45 bags of cocaine, and nine bags of marijuana. A large wildfire has broken out in Navaluenga, around 100 kilometres west of Madrid on Friday, burning approximately 700 hectares and sending a thick cloud of smoke over the Spanish capital. Festival organisers confirmed in a statement no one was injured and, “Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged.” Organisers said the campsite would still open on Thursday as planned, and that the focus was "on finding solutions for the festival weekend", with hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend over two weekends.

US President Donald Trump was met with boos from the crowd as he took part in the FIFA Club World Cup final post-match ceremony on Sunday. He presented the Club World Cup trophy to Chelsea following their 3–0 win over Paris Saint-Germain. Once all awards had been handed out, Trump didn’t follow FIFA president Gianni Infantino offstage as expected, instead lingering beside the players — clapping awkwardly and bouncing in place. Trump also presented several individual honours, including the Golden Ball to Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer. Palmer was the star of the night, scoring twice and setting up another in a dominant first-half display that left PSG stunned.
