Chinese manufacturer BYD is stockpiling vehicles in the suburbs, with a waterpark south of Sydney packed full of brand new electric cars. The company has imported 51,000 cars in the year to September, but only sold around 38,000 units. Experts believe it is related to a government loophole that is allowing BYD to accumulate carbon credits.

Dozens Of Flights Cancelled After Japan’s Sakurajima Volcano Erupts | 10 News

Locals are on alert and dozens of flights have been cancelled after a volcano on Japan's major western island of Kyushu erupted multiple times on Sunday. Videos show a large plume of smoke and ash stretching from Sakurajima volcano, as high as 4.4 kilometres into the air over the city of Kagoshima. The Japanese Meteorological Agency said it erupted around 1am, and there were two more eruptions at about 2:30 am and again at 8:50 am. Local media reported it as the first eruption reaching 4 km or higher from the crater since October last year.

The Russian Defence Ministry says their nation's forces have claimed the villages of Rivnopillya and Mala Tokmachka in south-eastern Ukraine, as its offensive in the region progresses. It comes with further heavy missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, with Pope Leo calling, and praying, for "stable peace" in the region. The Pope, in an address said the Russian attacks "cause victims and injuries, including children, and extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, leaving families homeless as the cold advances".
