Ongoing flooding in eastern Australia is set to worsen as more rain is dumped across already saturated catchments.

A soggy spring is headed for the eastern half of Australia, with a third La Niña weather system expected to hit.

The so-called women's budget has fallen short for many women, with the National Union of Students president Zoe Ranganathan saying the budget announcements equated to about $6.90 per woman overall.
