New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced he is ending his bid for re-election, just over a month before voters go to the polls. At least two people have died, and eight others wounded after a gunman opened fire inside a Mormon church in Michigan. Authorities said a 40-year-old man rammed a vehicle through the front of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township during a large service, began shooting and then intentionally set a fire that grew into a large blaze. It’s understood after the suspect left the church, two officers pursued him and "engaged in gunfire," before the man was killed. Police said they did not yet have a motive for the fire or shooting.
