Widow’s Wish To Be Buried Next To Husband Crushed Due To Rezoning | 10 News+

A 76-year-old woman who’s been working on her farm her whole life has found herself unable to be buried next to her husband, because the land has been rezoned by the government. Gaye Wheatley, and dozens of farmers in central New South Wales, have been threatened with fines if they touch the soil or the trees on the land they have toiled on for generations.

The Liberal Party has formally announced it will ditch its net zero by 2050 target, following in the footsteps of their Nationals colleagues. The teenager who murdered a Queensland grandmother has been given a 16 year sentence, but will only serve just under 10 years before being paroled. He was found guilty of stabbing 70-year-old Vyleen White to death in front of her 6-year-old granddaughter in a shopping centre carpark in Ipswich last year. He cannot be identified because he is under 18 years old.

China’s ‘Cryptoqueen’ Fraud Mastermind Jailed In UK Over Bitcoin Laundering | 10 News+

The mastermind behind a $9 billion Bitcoin laundering scheme has been jailed for 11 years in the United Kingdom. 47-year-old Qian Zhimin, dubbed the ‘cryptoqueen’, was found guilty of running an investment fraud between 2014 and 2017, which targeted 128,000 people. Over 80 people were convicted in China, but Qian fled her native country via Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Malaysia, before flying to London. She then began to convert Bitcoin bought with the proceeds of the fraud into cash.

Alex Simpson was born with a rare birth defect called hydranencephaly, which means her brain’s cerebral hemispheres are absent and replaced by sacs filled with spinal fluid. South Africa’s finance minister has taken aim at Donald Trump days after the US president announced his nation would boycott the upcoming G20 summit in Johannesburg. Enoch Godongwana used his mid-term budget update speech on Wednesday to reject false claims of a genocide being carried out against White Afrikaners in South Africa. Trump wrote on Truth Social last week, “It is a total disgrace that the G20 will be held in South Africa” and ”Afrikaners (People who are descended from Dutch settlers, and also French and German immigrants) are being killed and slaughtered, and their land and farms are being illegally confiscated.”

China’s Hongqi Bridge Partially Collapses After Massive Landslide | 10 News

A 758-metre-long bridge has partially collapsed in China’s southwestern province of Sichuan after a landslide struck the mountainside where it was built. Dramatic video shows a large section of the bridge breaking away and plunging into the river below on Tuesday just months after opening. The local government said police closed Hongqi bridge to all traffic on Monday afternoon after cracks appeared on nearby slopes and roads, and shifts were seen in the terrain of a mountain before conditions worsened yesterday. The bridge was completed earlier this year as part of a major highway project linking central China with Tibet.

Prince William has told of the methods he has used to help his children understand his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales' 2024 cancer diagnosis, as well as his father, King Charles III's battle with cancer. It appears the government shutdown in the United States may be coming to an end - with Republican and Democratic senators coming to a tentative deal in the last few hours. Senators are voting on a deal that would reopen and fund the government until January. But the package still needs to go through the Republican controlled house and be signed off by President Trump and in the meantime the shutdown is taking its toll on Americans.
