‘I Would Not Take Anything Back’: Jane Dishes All The Dirt On Her Big Brother Housemates

On Sunday night, the Groovy Granny was evicted from the house, having been nominated for her entire stay.

Arriving as the 13th housemate, Jane was tasked with hiding from the housemates for 90 seconds. Creeping into a false vent in the wall, Jane almost got away with her entrance task, but with just seconds left on the clock, Conor spotted her fingers, revealing her and automatically putting her up for the first week of nominations.

Surviving the first eviction, Jane was shocked to receive the most nomination points from her fellow housemates in the second week, once again putting her time in the house at risk. And on Sunday night, Australia voted to save Allana, ending both Jane and Mia’s time in the house.

“I was confident in the first week because I was voted in, Australia voted me in,” Jane told 10. “They’d want me to stay and to see what I’m like! When [the housemates] nominated me again, I thought, who cares!

“No one was yelling my name out from the aeroplane ride in Dreamworld. The young people would all want to keep Conor and Colin in there,” she continued.

The 67-year-old made history as the oldest Big Brother contestant in Australian history, and Jane said she wanted to go into the house for the experience and to show older Aussies that age is just a number.

“Just to be put amongst people of all different age groups, showing older people that you don’t have to sit at the RSL… you can actually do other things,” she said. “I dress quite glamorously… and I just wanted to show older people that there are so many things you can do, and don’t be frightened. Be yourself. And I think I was myself.”

But the generation gap in the house led to some mighty friction, especially between Jane and the so-called “undies gang” of boys, whose flair for flatulence had Jane fired up.

“I didn’t go in there to win, I didn’t think I could, I went in there for the experience and to see what it’s like to be put in a house full of all different age groups and what you have to put up with,” she said. “They were all being a bit silly and immature and I was a bit outspoken but I would not take anything back.”

“I knew there’d be a bit of carry on, but they were so immature,” she said of Colin, Bruce, and Vinnie. “Honestly, the fart thing is whatever, you make a noise, but they stunk! Absolutely reeked,” Jane continued.

“That was the worst thing. You walk into the bedroom and they’re all having a great laugh, sitting there, breathing it in. I was just saying what other people wanted to say in there.”

Telling the boys that their emissions were disrespectful, Jane riled up Bruce, who later confronted her in the BB Eatz kitchen, where the two were forced to stay while completing the shopping task.

“He did show his true colours and, after he did that, he struggled with it,” Jane said, “you could see it on his face. He was walking around, shattered.” Bruce later made an effort to apologise to Jane.

He said, ‘Sorry I upset you by yelling at you, but I meant every word of it’, as he walked past me. I mean, what’s that about?”

In her farewell message to the house, Jane didn’t hold back when it came to her feelings about Bruce, and also had a few unexpected jabs at Vinnie.

‘I really wanted to have the last say with Bruce, and I really wanted that to sink in,” she explained.

“With Vinnie, I may have been a little bit harsh, but the message was clear.”

Jane noticed Vinnie joining in conversations only because he believed the cameras were pointed at them. She said he was singing his own compositions in the garden and suggested his barbershop was a ploy for cameratime.

“He was kind, and we did have some nice chats, but he’s playing under the radar and that’s why I was a bit harsh on him, so they’re all listening,” she continued.

“If there’s a finale party and we all hook up with each other, I’ll have a quick chat with Vinnie… but Bruce? He won’t come anywhere near me. He’ll be with Michael, and they’ll have the biggest backstab session. Mike and Mini Mike. Eugh.”

Tune in tonight to see Jane’s brutal farewell message to the house, and see what other surprises Big Brother has in store for our housemates.
