Barry Williams is an accomplished American actor, singer, author, and entertainer whose career spans television, film, Broadway, music, and live performance. Best known for his iconic role as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch, Williams has built a multifaceted career that has continued to evolve long after the series became a cultural touchstone.
Before joining The Brady Bunch, he appeared in numerous television classics of the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Dragnet, Adam-12, It Takes a Thief, The Invaders, That Girl, Mission: Impossible, The Mod Squad and The FBI. His breakout role as Greg Brady earned him the Young Artist Foundation’s Former Child Star “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 1989. He went on to reprise the role in several reunion films and specials, including A Very Brady Christmas, The Brady Brides and The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, cementing his place in American pop culture history.
Barry later expanded into musical theatre, starring on Broadway in Pippin and Romance/Romance, and performing in more than 85 musical productions across the United States. His extensive national touring credits include Oklahoma!, The Music Man, The Sound of Music, City of Angels, Grease and West Side Story, showcasing his enduring talent as a leading man in stage musicals.
In Branson, Missouri, he headlined the successful multimedia musical variety production 70s Music Celebration! Starring Barry Williams, which ran for six years and drew enthusiastic audiences celebrating the era that helped define his early career.
Barry is also a bestselling author. His autobiography, Growing Up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg, spent several months on the New York Times bestseller list and was later adapted into an NBC television movie, which he executive produced. His additional work includes recording several CDs, starring in the Syfy feature Bigfoot alongside Danny Bonaduce, and hosting for five years on Sirius Satellite Radio.
Beyond his entertainment career, Williams has written, co-produced, and starred in three USO Christmas Shows, touring internationally to provide performances for American service members around the world.
Barry’s chosen charity, WIRES, was originally established by none other than Steve and Terri Irwin. “The name says it all,” Barry said. “An Australian based charity dedicated to the preservation of wild animals and conservation of wild habitats. Its mission is to protect the balance of people and wild animals living together peacefully.”
